Admission process for Onsite Master’s Programs

All candidates interested in starting their admission process to an onsite master’s program must contact the Department of Graduate Student Recruitment via:

Candidates who wish to visit the UDLAP campus and start the process immediately may present the Graduate Admission Application duly filled out.


STEP 1: FILL OUT THE APPLICATION

STEP 2: FIRST DOCUMENT DELIVERY

Once you have filled out your Admission Application you must deliver the first documents to the Department of Graduate Student Recruitment. These first documents are required for your admission. According to your academic background and application, the documents are classified as follows:


Maestría:

  • Admission application for graduate studies
  • Copy of your birth certificate or CURP
  • Copy of your Bachelor/Licenciatura diploma (both sides)
  • Copy of your Licenciatura Professional License (both sides)
  • Curriculum Vitae

Master:

  • Admission application for graduate studies
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Copy of diploma or official academic degree
  • Copy of transcript
  • Copy of immigration status documentation
  • Letter of intent

In case you completed your studies abroad, please contact the International Office for their Revalidation Before the Education Authorities.

Degree by Master’s Program Studies

  • Admission application for graduate studies
  • Copy of birth certificate or CURP
  • Letter of intent to complete the academic and administrative process at the Licenciatura level.
    In case you obtain the master’s degree by credits, you must present an Authorization certificate granted by the issuing university with the following information:
    • Authorization to obtain a degree by master’s studies (making reference to the regulation or policy that grants it)
    • Copy of the regulation or policy with the university’s seal
    • Name of the master’s program in which you will enroll
    • Specify that you will study at Universidad de las Américas Puebla
    • Indicate the percentage or number of credits required to start the diploma procedure
    • Name, signature, and position of the person responsible for the information
    • Valid issue date, and no more than three months old
    • Copy of the Complete Licenciatura Study Certificate

Degree in Process:

  • Admission application for graduate studies
  • Copy of birth certificate or CURP
    In case the diploma and professional license are still being processed, you must present a Certificate of finished studies which supports that the diploma and professional license are being processed; this must be accompanied by one of the following documents:
    • Copy of Licenciatura Certificate
    • Copy of the transcript that proves that 100% of the courses have been passed
    • Copy of the Certificate of Professional Exam

The copies must be in letter size, 100% legible (seals, texts, holograms, and signatures), not damaged, torn or stained, on both sides and without cuts of any kind. Documents that do not meet these requirements will not be received.

You will receive your Admission Guide by email from School Services, giving you an ID number for your initial payment. You will also receive information regarding the second document delivery.

Once the candidate has met these requirements, he/she must present the UDLAP Admission Exam for Graduate Studies.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

For the Second Document Delivery, in case the Diploma or Professional License are still being processed, or if you’re applying for a Master’s through studies, you must present:

- Original Certificate that proves that it is being processed, with the requirements mentioned in the First Document Delivery section
- Original Certificate of Licenciatura Studies

STEP 3: TAKE THE ADMISSION EXAM

The Universidad de las Américas Puebla’s Admission Exam for onsite masters is a test that measures the verbal and mathematical reasoning and English language level of our candidates. This exam is free of charge and can be taken online. Interested parties should contact the Department of Graduate Student Recruitment.

UDLAP alumni with an 8.5 or higher GPA are exempt from taking the admission exams.

Graduates from other universities and UDLAP alumni with a GPA below 8.5 must take the admission exam and the English exam.

The EXADEP, EXANI III, ADEN or equivalent exams and/or TOEFL, are valid for admission to the institution.

If the candidate wishes to have an interview with the Graduate Studies Coordinator, he/she may request it through the Department of Graduate Student Recruitment.

STEP 4: MAKE THE PAYMENT

The online master’s programs consist of 75 units distributed in 15 courses of 3 and 6 units each.

The programs are designed to be finished in one and a half years taking 2 courses in each of the 5 terms given per year. This totals 10 courses per year.

STEP 5: SECOND DOCUMENT DELIVERY

Once the candidate has been accepted and has enrolled at UDLAP, he/she must deliver all documents which will be part of the student file; therefore, no document may be returned to the student or used for other processes while enrolled or if he/she has pending administrative processes.

We recommend that you print the following document, read it carefully and use it as a checklist to make sure that you deliver all required documents.

The documents must be delivered in the period defined in the Admission Guide. In case not all documents are handed in at the end of the trimester, you will not be allowed to enroll for the following term. You may resume your studies when your file is complete and School Services has given its approval.


The documents to be handed in are:

For studies done in México 
  • Contract for Education Services. This may be downloaded on the Blackboard platform. The original must be handed in with name and signature at the bottom and margin of each page
  • Original birth certificate (recent and/or updated format)
  • 3 copies of the birth certificate in letter size (not damaged, torn, or stained)
  • 1 notarized copy of your Licenciatura diploma (letter size, both sides)
  • 3 copies of your Licenciatura diploma (letter size, both sides)
  • 1 notarized copy of your professional license (letter size, both sides)
  • 3 copies of your professional license (letter size, both sides)
  • 3 copies of your CURP. Print the e- CURP format: (http://consultas.curp.gob.mx)
  • 1 copy of your official ID (IFE, military card, or valid passport)
  • 1 copy of proof of address (no more than three months old)
  • 1 copy of your immigration document to certify your legal status in México (for foreign students).
  • Service Contract (form available at School Services) (the original must be delivered with name and signature at the bottom and margin of each page)
  • Copy of valid Medical Insurance policy or committment to pay the medical insurance offered at UDLAP

Important:

The copies must be in letter size, 100% legible (seals, texts, holograms, and signatures), not damaged, torn or stained, on both sides and without cuts of any kind. Documents that do not meet these requirements will not be received. Notarized copies must be a true and accurate copy of the original.

Any document not handed in before the end of the trimester, will restrict future enrollments. You may enroll when you complete your file and are authorized to do so by School Services.

It is essential that you specify the addressee so the courier can deliver the documents correctly.

All UDLAP students must have medical insurance.

  • If you have Medical Insurance, you must hand in a copy of the valid policy to School Services at the start of every semester. The following policies derived from Public Health Institutions are not valid: IMSS, ISSSTEP, Seguro Popular, among others.
  • Insurance at no additional cost is part of the benefits for students who live in Residential Colleges, so additional proof of insurance is not needed for them.
  • In case that the above does not apply, the student’s account will be charged with the concept: *SGMM (GNP) (*cost per semester).
