The Office of International Affairs makes the housing reservations for international student. International students must not fill out the online housing application from available from the residential college webpage.

International students will be placed in an on campus suite which they will share with 7 Mexican students. The rooms within the suite are shared (2 students per room). Suites are equipped with a kitchen, living room, bathroom/shower facilities, and washer/dryer. Please note that kitchen utensils with not be provided.

Please note that once a residential college reservation has been made, it cannot be cancelled and housing deposits will not be refunded.

For more information about the Residential Colleges please check: www.udlap.mx/vidaestudiantil/colegios

Homestay

The Homestay program promotes friendship and cross-cultural communication. Furthermore, living with a Mexican family is an excellent way for students to improve their Spanish and experience Mexican culture.

Our goal is to place students with families that have similar characteristics. In order to find a family that best matches the student’s needs, it is important that the student hand in the housing application from in advance.

Our homestay program is especially enriching because although students are living away from home, they still have a family to take care of them, to help them an to make sure that they are becoming integrated into the culture. When living in a Mexican home, students will have their own furnished bedroom and be provided with three meals daily.

Please note that we have limited number of families available. We place students on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will inform students once they have been placed with a family. Although we try to assign students to families who live near the university campus, students will have to commute to and from school using public transportation or the UDLA transportation service.
