Downloadable Brochure

As a graduate from the Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering you will be able to analyze, design, evaluate, innovate, and implement biomedical systems, applying engineering and health theories and methodologies – bioinstrumentation, biomechanics, biomaterials, medical imaging, physiological systems, clinical engineering, rehabilitation and tissue engineering – to propose solutions to medical problems, in collaboration with doctors, nurses, dentists, nutritionists, and technicians, thus responding to the challenges of globalization.

Once you have finished your study program, you will have a bachelor´s degree in addition to a licenciatura degree. Therefore, your studies will be recognized worldwide.

In addition to enhancing your entry skills, at the Licenciatura in Biomedical Engineering we propose to:

  • Teach you to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems related to health, using the best practices and technological advances.
  • Train you to design systems, components, or processes for the health sector, considering security, economic factors, and sustainability.
  • Encourage you to undertake, manage, and innovate in health businesses, projects, and products.
  • Develop in you solid bases to understand the different areas of biomedical engineering, using its technological advances.
  • Train you to master the use of medical equipment.
  • Instruct you in using computer tools to develop applications for biomedical engineering.
  • Make you master the technologies to solve medical engineering problems.
  • Let you recognize the importance of continuous and self-directed learning for your professional development.
  • Wants to find solutions in the health sector using information technologies.
  • Has initiative to propose creative solutions for the hospital sector.
  • Willing to work for the greater good and to be successful.
  • Determined to achieve goals through learning.
  • Able to design medical equipment and instruments, considering their safety and economic and sustainability aspects, to offer health services both in person and virtually.
  • Masters the analysis of medical systems, through active and collaborative intervention in multidisciplinary work groups, to develop innovative biomedical projects.
  • Able to distinguish the theoretical elements of the area by combining the techniques of biomedical design and health, based on biomedical instruments, biomaterials, and rehabilitation to design, develop, and improve medical equipment.
  • Selects suitable computer tools – by combining IT, health, and bioengineering knowledge – to process medical symptoms and make a diagnosis.
  • Able to adequately gauge medical equipment and instruments, using health and biomedical engineering tools and techniques, to solve problems in hospitals and health centers.
  • Can develop biomedical projects, showing leadership and expertise to lead interdisciplinary teams that include doctors, nurses, and dentists, and recommend solutions to problems related to bio-instrumentation, biomaterials, medical imaging, rehabilitation, and telemedicine.
