Voluntary Drop

Definition

This process is for students who wish to drop a course during the current semester.

Requirements
  • Present the voluntary drop form with the corresponding signatures.

  • For the following cases, request these additional signatures:

Type of Financial Aid Department
Sports Scholarship Sports Director and Financial Aid
University and Academic Scholarships Financial Aid
Education Credit Bursar’s Office
Exchange and Dual Program students International Office


  • Resealed UDLAP Student ID

Delivery in School Services

Application for voluntary drop – duly filled out. School Services will receive and process the withdrawal, giving you a copy of the paperwork.

Comments
  • Licenciatura: 5 Voluntary drop during your stay at the university (if you do not have a scholarship; otherwise, you must request approval from the Financial Aid Office to drop the course)

  • Master: 3 voluntary drop during your stay at the university (if you do not have a scholarship; otherwise, you must request approval from the Financial Aid Office to drop the course)

  • Doctorate: 3 voluntary drop during your stay at the university (if you do not have a scholarship; otherwise, you must request approval from the Financial Aid Office to drop the course)

  • International programs: 2 voluntary drop

  • If the withdrawal is during a change of major, study program or specialization, the count or voluntary drop from the previous program continues in the new major

Document Delivery
  • This document is personal, and if the person who requested it cannot receive the document, the person who is his/her representative must turn in a proxy letter and copy of valid ID of both the person who requested the service and his/her representative.



Grade Change

Definition

Process in which a student requests a modification of the final grade of a course taken in the preceding period.

Comments

Change of Licenciatura

Definition

Process carried out by students who wish to change licenciaturas, study programs, or specializations. Applies for the following school period.

Requirements

Go to School Services to request a licenciatura, study program or specialization change form.

Request the following signatures:

  • Department Head or Graduate Coordinator

  • Academic Advising Office (only for licenciatura change)

  • Financial Aid (only if the student has financial aid)

  • Go to the Unicaja to pay (only for licenciatura change)

Deliver to School Services
  • Licenciatura, study program or specialization change form with the authorization signatures.

  • Proof of payment

  • UDLAP Student ID

Delivery Time

1 working day from the last day of final grade data input, or during the registration period.


Comments
  • This process is personal, and if the person who requested it cannot receive the document, the person who is his/her representative must turn in a proxy letter and copy of valid ID of both the person who requested the service and his/her representative

  • For specialization and/or study program changes, the authorization from the Academic Advising Office is not necessary.

Course Equivalence (for students from another university in Mexico)

Definition

This is the administrative act in which SEP declares that studies carried out within the National Education System are comparable.

Costo
2 units for each validated course (at current costs).
Requirements

Licenciatura

  • University of origin study program duly sealed.

  • Syllabus of each course duly sealed.

  • Partial study certificate from the university of origin – legalized (original).

  • Minimum GPA of 7.5 or 75.

Graduate Studies

  • University of origin study program duly sealed.

  • Syllabus of each course duly sealed.

  • Partial study certificate from the university or origin – legalized (original).

  • Minimum GPA of 8.0

Document Reception

  • Fill out the study equivalence or revalidation application in the School Services Office, module 10 in the equivalencies and revalidation coordination.

  • Present the necessary documentation during the first 20 days after school starts to carry out the process before SEP.

  • To start the process you must cover 50% of the cost, equivalent to 2 units per course to validate.

Document Delivery

Depends on the resolution by the education authorities.

Comments

The student will be notified by email to pay the remaining 50% of the process cost when it has been resolved.

Course Movements

Definition

Process to program or modify a course during the school period (i.e. change of professor, classroom, schedule, capacity, and/or number of reservations).

This request is made by the corresponding Academic Department.

Requirements
  • Fill out the course movement form.

  • Request the form authorizations.

  • Hand in the filled out format to School Services.

Delivery Time

1 working day.

Comments
  • Once the period courses have been closed, the movement request must include not only the authorization of the Department Head or Dean, but also the approval of the Academic Vice Presidency and the Human Resources Department.

Re-Enrollment

Definition

Students who have not enrolled in over a year and wish to continue their studies carry out this process.

Semester Plan: equivalent to 2 semesters
Trimester Plan: equivalent to 4 trimesters

Requirements
  • Download the re-enrollment form

  • Go to the Academic Department Head to request authorization to re-enroll in UDLAP.  The Department Head will evaluate it according to the study program.

  • Request proof of zero balance from UDLAP Lottery.

Delivery in School Services
  • Re-enrollment form duly filled out and authorized by the Academic Department Head.

  • Copy of CURP

  • Proof of zero balance at UDLAP Lottery

Delivery Time

2 working days.

Comments

The student must pay the equivalent of 6 units (semester plan) or 4 units (trimester plan) to register.

Document withdrawal for students who have not enrolled in over a year

Definition

This process is for students who have not enrolled in over a year and wish to request the official documents they handed as part of the application process.

Requirements
  • UDLAP student ID or official ID with photograph.

  • Proof of zero balance at UDLAP Lottery

Gather the corresponding signatures
  • Collections representative

  • Credit representative

  • Library representative

  • College Head (in case the student was in Residential Colleges)

Delivery in School Services

Document withdrawal form with authorization signatures. A copy of the form will be given to the student as well as the official documents handed in during the application process.

3 working hours.

Withdrawal (dropping all courses in the current semester)

Definition

Students carry out this process when they wish to drop all courses registered during this period, so their GPA is not affected.

Temporary Withdrawal

The student drops all courses. The student may enroll the following period by meeting all registration requirements.

Permanent Withdrawal

The student drops all courses and his/her transcript is inactivated, which means he/she may not enroll the following school period. All official documents handed in during the application will be returned.

    • Head of College (in case the student was in Residential Colleges)

    • Library representative (only for permanent withdrawal)

    • Authorized person in Financial Aid Department

Delivery in School Services

Permanent or temporary withdrawal form. School Services will do the process and give a copy of the form to the student; in case of Permanent Withdrawal, the delivery of the official documents is scheduled.

3 hours (only for permanent withdrawal).

  • This process is personal, and if the person who requested it cannot receive the document, the person who is his/her representative must turn in a proxy letter and copy of valid ID of both the person who requested the service and his/her representative.

  • At the Licenciatura level the student may withdraw twice during his/her university studies (if the student has no scholarship; otherwise, he/she must request authorization from the Financial Aid Office to withdraw.)

  • At the Master and Doctoral level the student may withdraw once during his/her university studies (if the student has no scholarship; otherwise he/she must request authorization from the Financial Aid Office to withdraw.)

Course Validation (for students from foreign universities)

Definition

This is the administrative process in which SEP gives official validity to courses taken abroad, as long as they are equivalent to courses in the National Education System.

Cost

2 units for every course (at current costs).

Requirements

Licenciatura

  • Study program from the university, duly sealed.

  • Syllabus of each course taken, duly sealed.

  • Official transcript from the university (apostilled)

Graduate Studies

  • Study program from the university, duly sealed.

  • Syllabus of each course taken, duly sealed.

  • Official transcript from the university (apostilled)

All documents issued in a language other than Spanish must be translated by an authorized expert translator, without exception.

Document Reception

Credit Transfer for studies or practices abroad

Definition

This is the process for students who took courses or carried out practices abroad, and who want them to be recognized as part of their UDLAP study program.

Requirements
  • The student must meet the requirements established in the Procedure for Transfer of Credits for Studies or Practices Abroad.

  • Before the student carries out his/her studies or practices abroad, he/she must contact the International Affairs Department.

  • Before leaving, the student must fill out – in conjunction with the Academic Department Head – the course pre-selection form.

  • If for any reason, while the student is abroad, he/she wants to enroll in other courses that were not mentioned in the Pre-selection form, he/she must inform the Department Head before enrolling, by emailing the change of enrolled courses while abroad form

  • Upon returning, the student must fill out – in conjunction with the Department Head – the Transfer Of Credits For Studies Or Practices Abroad Form and hand it in to the head of the Exchange and Dual Programs Department (part of the International Affairs Department), as stipulated in the Procedure for Transfer of credits for studies or practices abroad
